Magee's Health Office works with all members of our school community to address student health and wellness issues. Teachers will receive health care plans for students in your classes with known diagnoses that may require monitoring or intervention. Once the plan is reviewed, please place it in your classroom sub binder for their use. If you aren't able to print a hard copy, please let us know and we will be happy to provide you with one. Confidentiality of student health information is to be maintained as dictated by HIPAA and FERPA. In addition to providing guidance regarding student health issues, I will provide training as indicated by student diagnosis, such as diabetic symptoms, Epipen administration.
The goal of the Health Office is to promote student wellness, ensure continuity of care for students with chronic health issues, and address students' acute care complaints in a timely manner. We are always available to work with you improve student academic achievement!

Guidelines for When to Send Students
|
Field Trips |
We often get questions regarding what students should be immediately sent to the Health Office, and who can wait a few minutes. Here are some guidelines we use at my other school.
The "10 Minute Guideline" is targeted at middle school classrooms after passing periods. |
The Health Office will work with you prior to any scheduled field trips. We are to be notified two weeks prior to any scheduled field trip and will then meet with you to review any potential health issues that may arise off campus as well as providing any required training.
